RPG Skyline€115.00Problem Small rooms like Project Studios need a very efficient surface to diffuse interfering rear wall reflections and provide a diffuse sound field.

Interfering reflections can be controlled by absorption or diffusion. In small rooms, it is often desirable to control interfering reflections and provide an ambient sound field using diffusion instead of absorption. When the room’s surfaces are relatively close to the listener, a very efficient diffusing surface is needed. To solve this problem, RPG® patented the Skyline®. It is the industry’s first — and most efficient — omnidirectional primitive root number theory two dimensional diffusor. The Skyline® scatters incident sound uniformly so that the acoustic glare in all directions is minimized. Problem Small rooms like Project Studios need a very efficient surface to diffuse interfering rear wall reflections and provide a diffuse sound field. Solution To solve this problem, RPG® utilized advanced primitive root number theory to design the most powerful and aesthetic two dimensional omnidirectional diffusing surface in the acoustical industry. Diffusion

The uniformity of diffusion is characterized by the standard deviation of the 1/3 octave polar response, for a given angle of incidence. For each of the 37 angles of incidence, 37 backscattering impulse response measurements are made at 5° increments between 0° and 180°. The Diffusion Coefficient is the mean standard deviation for all angles of incidence, normalized to the standard deviation of a delta function (1 equals ideal diffusion). The data illustrate the exceptional uniformity of diffusion above the diffraction limit (565 Hz = 1130 ft/sec/2'), which is related to the 2' dimension of the panel. The Diffusion Coefficient of a flat reflective panel is shown for comparison. Absorption
The solid expanded polystyrene core of the Skyline® provides useful low frequency absorption.
Installation
The Skyline® is very easy to install on walls or ceilings using the supplied hook and loop fasteners. Apply both sides of the hook and loop fastener to the rear of the Skyline® in each corner on a flat area. Remove the protective paper from the exposed side and apply to the wall. For permanent mounting, construction adhesive must also be applied, where space allows on the back of the unit, along with the hook and loop fasteners. The Skyline® can also be inserted into a T-bar ceiling grid.
WARNING:
The Skyline® is fabricated from flame- retardant, high- density expanded polystyrene foam. It is the nature of this material to have rough surface imperfections and contain steam vent holes. Some of these imperfections can be partially concealed by a factory paint process. If you are interested in a painted product, RPG® offers a painted version in Duron Multispec Fine Fleck paint. RPG® does not recommend that the Skyline® be painted in the field and assumes no responsibility for any damage resulting from field painting.

RPG Hemiffusor™€89.00The scientifically designed and tested Hemiffusor™ that has become so popular for a broad range of applications including recording studios, home theater and music rooms is now available in an affordable, light weight, solid wood model.
The scientifically designed and tested Hemiffusor™ that has become so popular for a broad range of applications including recording studios, home theater and music rooms is now available in an affordable, light weight, solid wood model. Each Hemiffusor™ W1 is hand crafted from Paulownia wood, which has earned itself the nickname ‘The Environmental Tree’ – see www.tropaul.com for more information on its many ecological benefits. Conventional acoustic treatments have relied on absorption for reflection control. Unfortunately, this can “deaden” a room and make it unsuitable for speech or music. Diffusive walls and ceilings are one of the most effective ways to simultaneously control room reflections and provide a natural ambiance. The Hemiffusor™ W1 uniformly scatters sound arriving from any direction into many directions, providing ideal distribution and coverage. Its unique shape creates an attractive, visually interesting acoustical surface. Problem Specular reflections from flat, hard surfaces cause strong reflections that corrupt speech intelligibility and degrade music quality. Typically, fabric wrapped absorptive panels are used to control interfering reflections, with the undesirable side effect of deadening the space
Sound strikes a two dimensional diffusing
Solution The Hemiffusor™ W1 is the latest in a line of affordable, 2D QRD® diffusion panels. It offers twice the reflection attenuation of a 1D QRD®, because it uniformly scatters sound into a hemisphere. The Hemiffusor™ W1 provides uniform, omni-directional, broad bandwidth diffusion in an attractive ceiling or wall design element. Absorption While the primary function of the Hemiffusor™ W1 is to provide broad bandwidth diffusion, it also offers a modest and beneficial amount of absorption across the frequency spectrum with the strongest emphasis at 800 Hz. Absorption increases with the application of a fabric covering across the face of the unit.

Diffusion The Hemiffusor™ W1 offers significant diffusion compared to a flat reflector panel. Data will indicate how the reference reflector becomes more and more specular as the frequency increases, whereas the Hemiffusor™ W1 provides a constant diffusivity. Testing completed, Diffusion Coefficients (actual performance standard) and Scattering Coefficients (for large space acoustical computer modeling only) will be published shortly. Installation The Hemiffusor™ W1 is very easy to install on walls or ceilings using the supplied hook and loop fasteners for temporary mounting. Apply both sides of the hook and loop fastener to the rear of the Hemiffusor™ W1 in each corner on a flat area. Remove the protective paper from the exposed side and apply to the wall. For permanent mounting, construction adhesive must also be applied, where space allows on the back of the unit, along with the hook and loop fasteners. Construction adhesive is always recommended for direct ceiling application. The Hemiffusor™ W1 can also be inserted into a T-bar ceiling grid. -
RPG Flutterfree™ 1000 x 100 x 26€26.00FlutterFree® is the first acoustical hardwood moulding that controls flutter echo by diffusion, maintaining the natural ambiance of the room. When adjacent panels are spaced and mounted with an air cavity, low frequency absorption can also be achieved.

Problem
Repetitive reflections from hard parallel surfaces produce flutter echoes that are perceived as timbre coloration and degrade sound quality and speech intelligibility. Absorptive surfaces are often used to control this annoying problem, with the unfortunate side effect of making the room too 'dead'.
Solution
FlutterFree® is the first acoustical hardwood moulding that controls flutter echo by diffusion, maintaining the natural ambiance of the room. When adjacent panels are spaced and mounted with an air cavity, low frequency absorption can also be achieved.
Absorptive fabric wrapped panels are the traditional treatment for flutter echoes which are caused by repetitive reflections between hard parallel walls. While absorption reduces flutter echoes, it also produces an acoustically 'dead' space. The resulting lack of ambiance makes the room seem psychoacoustically smaller and reduces the support of acoustic speech levels which makes conversation difficult.
FlutterFree® is a handsome, furniture grade, acoustical hardwood moulding that provides flutter echo control as well as bass absorption. Its application converts small rooms with flat parallel surfaces into functional spaces with good speech intelligibility, sound quality, and a natural, comfortable ambiance. It expands the designer's flutter control finish treatment options beyond fabric upholstered surfaces.

RPG ProFoam™ (12 panels) 1200 x 600€510.00RPG® patented ProFoam™, the first nestable, Variable Depth Air Cavity (VDAC™) foam. ProFoam™ uses an innovative, attractive, and universal profile to space most of the foam away from the surface for optimum absorption. Since ProFoam™ is nestable, one size fits all applications.

Problem
There are three aspects of conventional foam which can be optimized:
1. Conventional flat backed wedge and convoluted foams are applied directly to the mounting surface, where the particle velocity is zero. Since no absorption can occur when the particle velocity is zero, a significant portion of solid foam is wasted.
2. To provide appropriate absorption coefficients, conventional foam is sold in several thicknesses. If an application requires additional absorption at a later date, the existing foam must be removed and a panel of greater thickness applied.
3. Conventional foam has limited interior design application because of its "industrial" appearance and potential safety hazards.
Solution
To solve these problems, RPG® patented ProFoam™, the first nestable, Variable Depth Air Cavity (VDAC™) foam. ProFoam™ uses an innovative, attractive, and universal profile to space most of the foam away from the surface for optimum absorption. Since ProFoam™ is nestable, one size fits all applications.
Unlike conventional foam, additional absorption can be achieved at a later date by simply adding additional nestable layers to form a VDAC™ Stack. ProFoam’s™ unique attractive shape allows it to be used as a design element. When formed from fire safe Melaflex™, ProFoam™ can be used in all spaces that require Class A interior finish treatment.
Acoustical foam provides the most cost-effective approach to controlling interfering reflections and noise. To optimize the performance and appearance of conventional acoustical foam, RPG® patented an innovative profile design. This new nestable profile utilizes a Variable Depth Air Cavity (VDAC™) to strategically space most of the foam away from the mounting surface for optimum absorption efficiency and economy. By combining ProFoam™ and RPG®’s ProCorner™, a complete acoustical foam room treatment system is possible. The Studio In A Box Packages are now available.
Absorption
VDAC™ technology provides minimum point of contact with the mounting surface, thus enabling most of the foam to be positioned away from the wall for optimum absorption. Unlike conventional foams which are applied in a fixed thickness, additional absorption can be achieved by simply stacking new layers on top of the existing ProFoam™.
We now offer many different materials, all offer the same acoustic properties of the original Profoam but now offer greater fire retardancy ratings.
Polyflex™ ProFoam™ is fabricated from a UL94 2 lb./cu. ft. polyester urethane, which should only be used in Class B or C spaces. Since Polyflex™ is flammable, extreme care should be exercised in its use as an interior finish
